Information collected when you visit

This site is hosted on WordPress.com, which is operated by Automattic. When you visit, WordPress.com and its related services — including site statistics, Likes, and Akismet spam protection — collect certain information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you, and may use cookies or similar technologies to do so. How Automattic collects and uses this information is described in Automattic’s Privacy Notice for Visitors to Our Users’ Sites.

Information you choose to send

  • Contact form. If you send a message, the form collects your name, email address, and message. I use them to read and reply to your message. Messages are checked for spam by Akismet, a service operated by Automattic.
  • Comments. If you leave a comment, your name, email address, comment, and IP address are collected. Your email address is not displayed publicly with your comment. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet.
  • Subscriptions. If you subscribe to receive new posts by email, I use your email address to send you new posts. The subscription service, provided by WordPress.com, also processes it to manage your subscription and deliver the emails. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.

Advertising and cookies

This site does not currently show advertising. It intends to use Google AdSense. Once ads are enabled:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google’s explanation.

Before personalized ads are shown to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a Google-certified consent message will be used to ask for consent, and this section will be updated to explain how to review or withdraw your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as expected if you do.

  • Comments: kept for as long as the comment remains on the site. You can ask for your comment to be removed at any time.
